Beneficiaries

All funds raised by the Midlands CROP Walk go to support hunger-fighting efforts around the world.

Three-quarters of the funds go to support the national and international hunger-fighting work of Church World Service, an inter-denominational organization with a long history of supporting emergency relief work and development efforts. The remaining 25 percent of the funds go to support Midlands organizations in their hunger-fighting work.

For the 2008 walk, the following agencies will be participating, with funds designated to them proportionate to the number of individuals served by each program in 2007: Harvest Hope Food Bank Emergency Pantry services and Lexington Interfaith Community Services (LICS).

In its 29 years, the Midlands CROP WALK Against Hunger has raised more than $760,000, with a quarter remaining in the Midlands with local hunger-fighting agencies.
